THE CANAANITES

The original Canaanites were Chinese-looking, but the later ones, known as the "Phoenicians" were mediterranean-looking. They consisted of eleven tribes: Sidonites, Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, Girgasites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites.

Some of the Canaanites migrated to west Africa and mixed with the blacks there. They became the Kanuri tribe of Nigeria. Some settled in what's now the Congo (Canaan and Congo maybe from the same root word).

The Amorites migrated to northwest Africa and became the Moroccans and Mauritanians. Some went to Ethiopia and became the Amhara tribe. While others migrated all the way to Manchuria and settled in the region called "Amur R."

The Sinites migrated to China. Some migrated to southeast Asia and became the Sindhi of India and the Sinhalese of Ceylon. While others went to Africa and became the Senufo of Ivory Coast, the Ashanti of Ghana, the San of Botswana, the Shona of Mozambique, and the Songhai of Sudan.

The Zemarites migrated to southeast Asia to Semarang and Sumatra in Indonesia, and the province Samar in the Philippines.
