The impact of the wholesale condemnation of Dr. Baruch Goldstein, although no guilt had been proven in accordance with accepted judicial principles, went well beyond just blackening his name. A number of practical repercussions resulted from this condemnation:
1. The area around his grave: A law to demolish this area, an area which had been awarded the necessary building permits - was passed in the Knesset and following a battle in the High Court of Justice, the area was demolished.
2. Although Baruch Goldstein was murdered in the Cave of Machpelah by the Arabs present after his weapon had been taken away, his widow Miryam was denied by the �Appeals Committee� the pension given to widows whose husbands were �victims of hostile action.�
3. All of Baruch Goldstein�s good deeds seem to have been forgotten.
4. Following Baruch Goldstein�s death, a memorial book entitled �Baruch Ha-Gever� with contributions by some 70 people who knew him was published. The editor and his three assistants were brought to trial and convicted for publishing such a book.
