NPCC Training Programme

1. It is to be the Training Policy of NPCC that:

a. the Training Years will include all Sec 1 to Sec 3 cadets; the
             Service Years will include all Sec 4/5 cadets;

b. the training programme should prepare cadets adequately for
             the various proficiency badges;

c. it should also qualify cadets for promotion to various ranks;

d. camping to begin at Sec 1 which is to be an overnight camp in
             school while Sec 2 cadets go to Pulau Ubin. Sec 3 cadets will
             also go to Pulau Ubin, but a separate and challenging training
             / camping programme be devised for them.

2. Thus, the training programme to be implemented is devised
             in line with the above-mentioned policy. All cadets will
             complete NPCC training by the time they finish their 3rd year
             in NPCC. All Sec 4/5 cadets will concentrate on providing
             services for the schools or community.

3. All Sec 4/5 cadets will given a special task to perform, i.e. to
             be 'mentor' to their junior counterparts. They will give a
             'helping hand' in matters pertaining to NPCC training, not
             unlike that of a 'big' brother or sister. Some specially selected
             Sec 4/5 NCOs will carry on with their specified duties.

4. Apart from being 'mentors' as and when required, all Sec 4/5
             cadets may assist their schools as "Security Officer". They will
             do a monthly check of the schools' physical security
             measures like checking for damaged perimeter fencing and
             any other accesses to the school building. A checklist of the
             various measures will be given to the cadets who will then
             report any weaknesses in these security measures to the
             school authority.
