Uniform Expectations

As a cadet in uniform, you are identified with the National Police Cadet Corps. People associate you with the corps. Hence any misbehaviour will create a poor impression on the corps. In order to give the corps a good impression, a cadet must maintain a high standard of personal bearing.

Personal Appearance

Cadets must be smart in turn out and bearing. Smart turn out simply means:

• Wearing your various items on the uniform correctly
• Keeping your hair neat and trimmed
• No contact lenses will be allow
• For girls, unnecessary accessories are not allow
• Wearing polished boots
• Smart bearing means looking smart in the way you project your
       image to others

Wearing the Beret

The beret is to be worn level with the forehead with the brim about 2.5 cm directly above the left eyebrow. The cap badge must also be directly above the left eye. The beret is folded on the right.

For Boys
• Hair trimmed short at the sides and the back
• Hair should not touch the collar
• Hair should not be dyed

For Girls
• Preferably keep short hair
• Long hair should be pinned up using black hairpins. Hairnets
       should be used as well.
• Hair should not be dyed

Uniform

For Boys
• Collar must be well- ironed whereby it stands
• All seams must be well- pressed
• Seat of trousers must be reasonably loose and not too tight
• Leg of the trousers must cover the ankles
• No flares

For Girls
• Collars must be well- pressed
• Skirt must be reasonably loose and not too tight
• Skirt should be 2 inches (maximum) above the kneecaps

Belt

It should be polished/ wiped and worn comfortably.

Boots / Socks

• Boots should be polished and kept clean
• Socks should be black and bear no logos
• For girls, socks must not be folded
