This site gives Banbury, Cherwell Heights and Bodicote Village residents a source of information about the plans to build ~1,000 homes off Bankside, along the Oxford Road and on the canal. It also keeps you informed of events as they happen and provides easy ways for you to take part in the fight to stop the plan.

Bodicote Parish Council and Cherwell Heights Housing Action Group are fighting the plans because this is the wrong site for Banbury, chosen by a defective process for the wrong reasons. For more information about the hazards in the plans please go to What's wrong with putting the houses of Bankside and the way the site was chosen!

At one stage we believed that dispersal was the least-bad option and it may be. However, we have since realised that so little proper analysis has been done that any decision would be suspect. The council does not have enough information to be able to choose the least-bad site.

Furthermore, planning rules have changed dramatically while the plan has been in work. It is out of date now and would be even more out of date by the time it is approved.

You can check out the draft plan for 2011 and its current status by visiting CDC planning website .

Your numerous objections have be left with the Council Officers. At this stage we wait for the Public Enquiry into the Local Plan thought to be early next year. Thank you for you support.
