4th Annual Chad Smith Memorial Golf Tournament

Dear Valued Citizens & Chatham-Kent Businesses:

On Saturday, June 13 2009, please join us for the 4th Annual Chad Smith Memorial golf tournament to honor Chad's memory and to promote awareness for organ donation. Last years extreme success has inspired us to again have the tournament in memory of Chad.

Last year we had over 128 golfers attend the fourth annual tournament. With help from the community, we were able to raise $5300. We made donations to an educational trust fund for CKSS student, Lloyd Reid, who suffered head trauma in a bicycle accident in September of 2008. Lloyd is a young adult who puts everyone first and enjoys helping others, so we feel that it is only appropriate that we in turn help him in his fight to a full recovery. Please help us continue to make this tradition a success. Mark your calenders for Saturday, June 13th, 2009, at Baldoon Golf Course, Wallaceburg, ON.

Chad Smith passed away July 23, 2006 as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. Through his passing, he was able to give life back to 3 men, 1 woman and a 22 month old baby boy.

Chad loved the game of golf. Although Chad had only been involved in the game for a few years, it was his passion and he excelled at it. He loved to golf anytime. He particularly enjoyed playing in the Tuesday night men's league with his dad and a regular round each week with his buddies from Worthington Cylinders. We cannot think of a better way to remember and honour him, than to be out on the fairways.

We are currently looking for valued citizens and businesses like you to donate prizes for this event, send out a team to play golf or sponsor a hole. Together, we will be able to help support these causes and make everyone aware of the importance of organ donation. There is no greater gift than the "gift of life".

The 2009 tournament winners were Trevor Koegler, John Koegler, Adam Dickinson and Brent Cadotte.

The 2008 tournament winners were Mike Elgie, Dave Smith, Tim Arnold and Gary Smith.

The 2007 tournament winners were Jason Pye, Rob Cudmore, Scott Norris and Nick Kamarlingos.

The 2006 tournament winners were Jason Pye, Rob Cudmore, Scott Norris and Nick Kamarlingos.
