Epilogue

You're probably now wondering what had exactly happened the night Teddy wrote that final email. If you didn't quite catch it. He told me he didn't have anything to wear.

Wednesday night, August 15th, I had finally suggested to Teddy that he come and spend the night at my place that weekend. At first he was reluctant but accepted my invitation. Over the next 2 days was a long and anticipated wait for Friday evening.

I had told Teddy that if things, for some reason, weren't going to work out that evening, he should come to dinner at least and that he was under no obligation to spend the night. He agreed.

Friday afternoon, we had called each other to see how each of us were feeling about that evening. We seemed to alternate between the two of us. One would be cool with it, while the other would be nervous and scared.

Finally, close to 4pm, Teddy calls me at work and tells me that he has a meeting at 5pm. I was confused at first. Then I started to doubt that he was going to show up at all.

I went home and waited for a phone call from him. It wasn't until 7pm that night I called him. No one answered the phone at his place nor work. I left a brief message to give me a call and let me know what was going on.

Around 7:30pm he phones me to tell me that he had just gotten home. He reassured me that he was still going to come over. I told him that I didn't make dinner at all and I wasn't going to start now. He then told me he was going to take a shower, pack a bag and call me within 30 minutes.

8:30pm came and I still didn't hear from Teddy, so I called him. And what he told me frustrated me. He didn't even get into the shower yet. He was busy trying to find something to wear. And over the following 30 minutes, he told me he wasn't coming at all and we'd do it tomorrow.

Of course I was upset, his excuse was poor, but I didn't argue. Instead, I let him go with disapointment in my voice. And that's the result of his final email.

Are you asking yourself: Did we meet up the next evening? Is there another email to follow? What did I do while Teddy was at home obviously upset? The answers can be found here my good readers, in great detail.
