In early December 2001 Mike was in a minor Vancouver car accident. He was then taken to the hospital Dec 4. where I think he caught pneumonia. I have heard that the last words he said were "I'm sorry, don't leave me" isn't that sad :-( ; then he gave his mom and dad thumbs up before he passed on. Michael James Cuccione was born on January 5, 1985. He has green eyes and Curly, dark brown (it was straight and blond before his chemotherapy treatments)hair. He is a Capricorn and was born in Burnaby, British Cloumbia but is now in Vancouver ,Canada. His parents names are Gloria and Domenic Cuccione and siblings are Sophia 18, and Steven 12. He is a Roman Catholic and at this current time is single. He is a two time cancer survivor and was on the honor roll in middle school. He's recieved many awards, one of which was, the Calabria-America 1998 Award, where Michael was the youngest ever recipient, and one of two Canadians of Italian descent, to recieve the award in Italy. He's met Pope John Paul.and he has raised over $ 140,000 for cancer research in just one year. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, in July, 1994, when he was nine years old. Six months of chemotherapy treatments followed. He was believed to be cured but six months later, the cancer returned. Worse yet, it metastasized to his lungs. He would need massive, strong doses of chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and twelve radiation treatments around his heart and lungs, with no guarantee of survival. Somehow, he did survive. On August 1, 1996, he celebrated being cancer-free for a year. He likes all sports except for golf and his favorite Tv show is friends. His favorite actors are Jim Carrey, Denzel Washington, and Tom Hanks. Favorites Actresses are Sharon Stone and Helen Hunt. Favorite Movies are "The Green Mile" and the "Godfather" series. His favorite food is Pasta and candy is sourpatch kids. And favorite band besides 2gether is 112 and color is powder blue. He played Charlie Dodson Hays, a young boy who was diagnosed, and died of medullary thyroid cancer.Then in 2000 he joined 2gether which became a hit after it's first movie on MTV Due to his respiratory problems, he did not appear in the last few episodes of "2gether". Was admitted to a hospital with pneumonia in early December, where he died of respiratory failure on Jan. 13.Had to film some episodes of "2gether" with an oxygen tank due to lung problems.January 17, 2001 - David Hasselhoff performed a tribute song at Michael's memorial held in Vancouver, Canada.Co-authored a book with his grandmother and created a cancer research foundation.His second bout with Hodgkin's came six months after and metastasized to his lungs. He required strong massive dozes of chemotherapy, a bone-marrow transplant and twelve radiation treatments around his heart and lungs with no guarauntee of survival. He did survive and the cancer was cured, but the tratments left him with permanent lung complications that would eventually lead to his death.His first diagnosis of Hodgkin's disease was in July 1994 at 9 1/2. He required six months of chemotherapy which put it into remission.His activism and creation of his fund had earned him many humanitarian awards such as BCTV's Saturday Child, Vancouver Leader of Tomorrow award and a YTV achievement award. As of December 2000 his foundation had raised $500,000 Canadian.Composed a 5 song album called "Make A Difference". The songs were written by Michael during his battle with cancer.
