Medication

There are four stimulant medications that are all around 75% effective for any given person with AD/HD. They are:

• Ritalin
• Dexidrine
• Adderall
• Cylert

If one medication does not work for the individual try another, because the likelihood of one of the others working increases the success rate to 90+%.

These should be the effects of taking the stimulant medication:

• Increased concentration and attention

• Decreased impulsivity and hyperactivity
• Decreased aggression and defiance
• Improved compliance and rule-following
• Better working memory and self-speech
• Improved handwriting and motor skills
• Improved peer status and relations
• Better awareness in sports
