This high-spirited Western adventure series stars Golden Globe Award winner Jane Seymour as Dr. Michaela ("Mike") Quinn, a refined woman and doctor who moves from the civilized world of mid-19th century Boston to a rough frontier town in Colorado to begin her own medical practice. The series chronicles the experiences of Dr. Quinn as she becomes friends with a quiet loner, Byron Sully (Joe Lando), and adopts three children (Chad Allen, Shawn Toovey,Erika Flores/Jessica Bowman ) when their mother dies. While the headstrong Michaela can be tough, Beacon Hill never prepared her for such a rugged world where the people are as coarse as the climate and their ideas seem from another time. Conflicts also ensue as Dr. Quinn's sophisticated values clash with the backwards mindset of her Western neighbors.
