| Install Instructions for MWG Trigger Circuit ** These Instructions are for Installing the MWG trigger circuit, Turbo Timer must be installed to take full advantage of circuit. ** << Remove the fuse panel (the whole side is held on by 3 clips, just tug on the panel and it will pop off), the panel under the steering column couple screws underneath). Also remove the panel that is farther underneath the ? >> steering column, the dead pedal, hood release, and the panel behind the hood release. >> WIRE LOCATION NOTE <<: These wires can be found at the steering column (opposite side of IGN key cylinder) the wires that you should be looking for are 10 AWG wires and use as follows: Black wire with red stripe = IGN ACC (this would connect on the turbo timer Accessory wire) Solid Black Wire = Ignition Power (this would connect on the turbo timer Switch power Ignition wire) Solid Red Wire = Constant 12 Volts (this would connect on the turbo timer constant 12V wire) Splice wires and solder in place, If soldering iron is not available then remove about 3/8" of insulation on spliced in IGN,Power wires and stripe off 3/4" of insulation on wires that are being installed from turbo timer and MWG trigger circuit, shown on illus. #1) illus. #2 shows how to splice wires together, you can solder at this point(illust A) and or do as shown on illus. #3 completed splice with electrical Tape. After finding all Ignition and power wires make sure to disconnect the battery before doing any work. >>> MWG Trigger Circuit can be mounted anywhere under drivers' side under steering column and above pedals <<< >> WIRE CONNECTION NOTE <<: This section will cover the connection of wires from the MWG trigger circuit. Red Wire = connect this wire to constant 12V power (same as mentioned above, solid red wire located at steering column) Yellow Wire = connect this wire to IGN Accessory (same as motioned above, black wire with red strip located at steering column) Black Wire = connect this wire to ground, can be found under steering column above pedals. Blue Wire = connect this wire to trigger wire in driver door ( see page 2) Page 1 of 4 ** These set of instructions are for the trigger part of the circuit, in other words in order for this circuit to work properly the driver side door panel must be removed.** Assembly overview: << Take apart the driver's side door. There are 3 screws on the bottom on the inner side(#5), and two inside under the switches. To take out the switches you remove the inner door handle trim piece(#1), pull up on control assembly(#2) and lift off, disconnect the window switches, remove the window switches from the handle cover. There you will see the screws. Disconnect all wires from the door panel and put the door panel to the side. << Remove one side of the black rubber hose and feed a guide wire through to fish blue wire from circuit. Attach blue wire to guide wire using electrical tape and pull wire through rubber grommet. Finally pull wire guide with blue wire through door . >> << Run blue wire from the circuit along the oem wire harness, put electrical tape or tie rap to secure wire to harness. Then you must brake open the protective cover on the oem harness to find the trigger wire, brake cover approximately under window motor. (as illustrated in picture) Trigger wire is yellow with a blue stripe, For Passat 02 -04 Trigger wire is Red or Orange with a Green Stripe. It is important that you find the correct wire otherwise circuit will not work properly. Page 2 of 4 << Splice blue wire from circuit into the yellow with blue stripe wire. For Passat 02 -04 Trigger wire is Red or Orange with a Green Stripe. You can use the wire tap connector that I have provided or solder wires together. Soldering is always better. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have install an Alientech or any other device a diode must be installed on the device and on the MWG trigger circuit. Follow the instructions below as follws: Now you have completed all connections for the MWG Trigger circuit.. reconnect battery and reassemble door panel in the reverse order. OPTIONS NOTE If you only want the oem alarm to activate and lock the doors, flip the switch on the circuit to [0] If you want the oem alarm to activate, lock the doors, close the windows and sunroof flip the switch on the circuit to [1] ** If you have the Roll Up Windows option selected and wish to stop the windows while the circuit is active, all you need to do is press the UNLOCK button on the oem remote controls and it will stop the windows from rolling up. IMPORTANT NOTE: If turbo timer is NOT in use once key is removed from the ignition, trigger circuit will activate 2 seconds later. In order to keep the circuit from locking the doors and activating the alarm, you must open drivers doors before turning off ignition. if you would like to put an ON/OFF switch so you can turn off my circuit, in the event that you need to turn it off for any reason. you can pick up a SPST ON-OFF MINI TOGGLE SWITCH at radio shack or any electronics outlet. the cost is about $2.00 This is what the SPST switch looks like >> Here is a drawing on how to install the ON/OFF switch >> If you have any questions concerning installation of this circuit you can reach me via e-mail e-mail: [email protected] Page 3 of 4 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY The information provided by MWG (Luis M Chacon) is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. MWG (Luis M Chacon) disclaims all warranties, either express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
