Story
This story takes place in modern Japan, and it encircles the daily life of a group of Japanese teenagers. What's gonna happen??? A girl called Miyazawa Yukino has a perfect cover. She presented herself as an elegant, athletic, intellectual and friendly person. But in reality she is actually the queen of vanity: the perfect cover is just a bluff to make others love her and admire her. She was content to live under in this bubble until the arrival of Arima Souijiro. Arima is a perfect, 10 out of 10 student, who beats Yukino in the academic field and took her place as the student speaker at the opening ceremony of the school year. Yukino is frantic! So she started to train and study even harder, in order to beat Arima. During that time, Yukino started to find herself falling into an infatuation for this Arima guy, yet she despites this show of emotion. She remained serene around Arima, and is still twirled in that mixed feeling of love and hate for him. Yukino wonders how much longer she can contain herself from him..... But on one fateful day....the real, plain, rude, boyish self of Miyazawa Yukino is discovered! Arima went to the Miyazawas' house to lend a Brahms CD to Yukino, and Yukino, thinking that it is one of her sisters returning, goes out the door and did a slam kick to Arima!!!!!! After that Yukino's life is ruined. Arima blackmailed her, and threatened her to do all his work to exchange for the safety of her secret. Poor Yukino was forced to do everything, on top of all her own work. One late evening at school, she couldn't take it anymore. Yukino proposed that she would never continue to work for Arima, even if he would tell the whole school her secret. But then Arima poured his heart out to her. He told Yukino his true intention in "enslaving" her. He wanted to see her more often and to him, that was the only way to keep her around him (talk about obsessive...^^;;). Yukino, realized that all her pain is rooted from this guy, and yet, her love and happiness too. She confessed to him why she felt hurt and scared when he knew her secret; because she can't bear having him despising her because of her faults. And you know what happens next: they become a dear, lovey- dovey pair who won everyone's admiration!!! The story is still in progress as of today, as Masami-sensei is still working on it. More character were introduced as it goes on. This wonderful series is by Masami Tsuda, and is published in LaLa. LaLa is a monthly shoujo manga mag and presently there are 10 tankubons for this series. I will put up information for subscribing to LaLa as soon as I find it. |
