Miyazawa, Yukino (�c�A����)

The main female role in this story. Elegant, pretty, smart, athletic, sincere, all rolled into one. She basically does not have any defects. She is the unofficial speaker in her class, and is constantly acting as class reps, prefects, presidents, whatever top seats in any school clubs and activities. But under this perfect cover, Yukino is just like everyone else. At home she is totally different: she wears glasses, her hair and clothing style is plain, and she doesn't act like a *lady*. Her identity is discovered by Arima Souhijiro, when he went to her house on a Sunday to lend her some Brahms CD. Arima get ahold of this secret of Yukino (or say, weak point), and tthreaten to blow off her cover if she doesn't do what he says. He seems so evil! But in fact, Arima is doing this just so he can see Yukino more often. He is obsessed, or simply put, in love with her. Yukino did not know this, but later she discovered her love for him. These two became a couple, and the bond between them is so great that pretty much nothing can separate them...

Other's point of view: Yukino is very strong at mind, though sometimes headstrong and is a workalcoholic. She stands up for friends and is pretty much good at everything. To Maho, she has such a strong influence over Arima that he basically will do anything she wants. As for Tonami, he found a resemblance in Yukino. He found the similarity in their personalities, as both of them often try to hide their true faces, and has a *special* taste for vengence.

Note: Yukino and Arima confessed their love for each other under weird circumstances. As the queen bee of the school, Yukino was admired by many, but she was only interested in Arima. As she found out why Arima is constantly on her case (just so he could see her often), she confessed her love for him....weird, but sweet~

Izawa, Maho (���A�u�q)

The cool, calm, collected one of the group. She first hated Yukino Miyazawa guts. This is because Yukino exceeds her in schoolschool Yukino took away the things that she was prouded of- her popularity, academic results, position in the student body, etc. So Maho desides to persuade all the girls in the grade to boycott Yukino. She spread rumours about how Yukino is a slut, and tried to darken her reputation. Later the truth came out and the students started to become friends with Yukino again, and they abandoned Maho because of her uncivil acts. Maho completely failed, but Yukino befriended her. She did not take advantage of her position at the moment and insult Maho. Maho realizes her own fault, and apologized to Yukino. She then started to connect with Yukino and the others. Eventually she built a strong bond with each of them.

Other's point of view : Maho is cool, and some people might think that she is the "I'm so cool so don't bug me" kind of person. But she is just shy to show her feelings. She can be very considerate, and caring too. Though being a perfectionist at times, she is a very good friend.

Note: Maho's boyfriend is a 26-year-old dentist. I have no idea how they met (please inform me!), but they make a really cute couple!

Sakura, Tsubaki (���ܼ�)

The carefree, athletic one of the group. Personally I found her quite different than the others (although all the characters have distinct personalities). Unlike Yukino, she doesn't stick around with her significant half (Tonami) much. They are going out, though somewhat discreetly. During elementary, Sakura was the bully in the school. She has a "soft spot" for pretty girls, and that's why she became Tsubasa Shibihame's only friend during elementary school. And it was this time that she met Tonami Takefumi, a spoiled, chubby, rich kid whom is the victim of bullying, and whom no one wants to hang around with. Sakura protected him, and so Tonami thought he was special to her (Sakura was the 'strongest' person in the school...in a way she was very acctractive to him..). But she protected him only because the teacher tell her to do so. When Tonami found out the truth, he was totally heart-broken, and decided to take revenge on sakura. But later things were all different.....

Other's point of view: Sakura is very much like Asaba. They both like pretty girls, and has a somewhat carefree, happy-go-lucky style. To Tonami, she is the one who triggers his emotions. Through all these years, she had been on his heart. He tried to seek vengence on her, but he discovered that the reason he hates her so much is because he had been fond of her all along.

Note: Sakura is not planning to go to college. She would visit old historical ruins in the world with Tonami. And oh, I prefer to call Tsubaki Sakura...it sounds prettier.....

Tsubasa is the little princess of the group. At the beginning we see her as the spoiled, unreasonable little brat since she is always trying to take Arima Souhijiro for herself. Arima is her object of admiration ever since elementary school. When she met Yukino Miyazawa, she had went to the extremes to try to break this relationship. Later she discovered that this is just an infactuation and the conflict is resolved. She had eventually become one of the "Yukino clan". In the middle of the series, Yukino's father remarried a woman, who had a son of her own. His name is Kazuma Ikeda. Tsubasa first hated the idea of having a new family, especially her new "younger" brother (although it looks like she is the younger one instead...). But after Kazuma saved her from an accident, Tsubasa started to know more about him and eventually, a strong bond was formed betweent the siplings.......

Other's Point of View: Tsubasa is the cute little sister (yet *strange* sometimes) of the group. She looked up to Yukino...and sometimes treat her like her mother (Arima act really funny whenever they are doing this mother/daughter thing..^^). Maho regarded her as somewhat "distant", since these two never really had a straight talk with each other. Tsubasa had this instinct to find Kazuma in the crowd even though she couldn't see him and have no idea of his whereabouts....^^;; and also, she is very popular among the Yin Yang members (Kazuma's popular rock band).

Note: Tsubasa often acts as a comic relief in the series, along the Miyazawa family's puppy, PeroPero.

Rika is the peacemaker in the group, and usually, the one in control (of herself... you know, having good morals...) She is often the one to apologize when the group is fooling around in the public (like Tsubasa and Sakura ^ ^;;). She has a strong bond with Aya Sawada, though Aya doesn't seem to trust her in the beginning....but upon realizing Rika's offer of pure friendship with no additives (? you know, like jealousy, since Aya is a pretty famous author..), Aya realizes how bad she had treated Rika before, and got closer with her. Rika-chan also has a habit of freaking out when she sees Aya smoking....it's really funny. Rika seems to be interested in Aya's brother (not biological brother, but a very good friend), Kyou-chan. Those two blushes when they see each other.....how kawaii~

Other's point of view: Yukino is definitely sure that something is going on between Kyou-chan and Rika (duh!). Sakura, although sometimes so carefree that she doesn't listen to others, pays high respect to Rika (guess she's treating them like a mom ^^ ).

Note: Tonami, Aya, Sakura and Rika both went to the same elementary school. Therefore they were the only four (and Yukino) that knows the whole story between Tonami and Sakura. Rika is also a talented homemaker. She is good at cooking and domestic stuff like that. She is definitely very feminine.

The somewhat boyish Aya is the laidback type. She had won a Junior Literary award, published a book, and has her own column in a magazine. She was also the one who wrote the play for Yukino et co. in the school bunkasai to perform. She is Rika's best friend, though in the beginning she was suspicious of Rika's motives.....since she thought Rika was jealous of her, but was later convinced by Rika's true show of friendship. Aya is the only one in the girls' group that does not have a person of admiration at the moment...(some members at the karekano club have been mentioning about Asaba and Aya together, since they are the only two who are single =) Aya is also the only smoker in the whole group....and both Yukino and Rika get furious when they see her smoking. Also, she has an older-brother-type of guy friend called Kyou-chan, who went to the bunkasai to see her play...and he seems to have a high interest in Rika-chan.

Other's point of view: Aya is the type of "literature girl", though she often stresses a lot if her works did not come out right. Aya does has an eye for fashion, and was being very picky at Asaba's clothes when he showed up one day wearing weird "stuff" (Act 26 of the anime I think). She is also a pretty modest person, and a nice friend too - though she and Sakura enjoy making fun of Tsubasa.

Note: Yukino's youngest sister, Kano, is a great fan of Aya's works. She called Aya "sensei" (teacher - the japanese way to call authors etc), which made Aya shudder.....^ ^
