The Sabbath Day
One of the first things people notice about the Church of God, International is that we worship on Saturday instead of Sunday.  But there is much more to it than that.  Saturday is the Sabbath Day, a day of rest for man and beast (Deuteronomy 5; Exodus 20).  Members of the church do not work at their regular jobs on the Sabbath, nor do they do household chores, yard work, etc.  The very word "Sabbath" means "rest," and that is what we do.  On the other hand, CGI is an open church, and many who attend with us have not yet been able to solve their Sabbath work problems.  Paul told us to receive those whose faith was weak, not to freeze them out of the church (see Romans 14).
