Educational
& Employment Background
I graduated from West Hazleton High School
in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania, a very long time ago. Directly after
high school, I attended West Chester University and the University of Oregon
for my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts (English, Speech,
& Drama). After graduation I worked in Disneyland. Several
years later, I returned to West Chester University and graduated
with a Master of Science degree in Instructional Media. I decided
that I was tired of scraping ice off of the car and moved to Florida.
After graduation I worked in Walt Disney
World as a chipmunk and other assorted characters. In 1980, I began
teaching secondary school in the daytime for Orange County Schools and
working the Electric Light Parade at night. I changed my day job
in 1981 and began working as the Television Production Coordinator for
Valencia Community College in Orlando. I also worked as a free-lance
videographer for Audio Visual Production Studios in Apopka, Florida.
For family reasons I moved back up north
for nine months, 1987-1988 school year, and was an elementary media specialist
for the Pennsville Area School District in New Jersey. I loved the
job but the weather was brutal and I moved back to Florida.
I moved to Boynton Beach in Palm Beach
County, Florida, in August of 1988 because I wanted to live by the beach
and teach secondary school. I have taught for Palm Beach County Schools
since then. I taught television production for the first four
years in Palm Beach County and then I moved into the media center.
I like working in the media center because I get to meet a lot of students
with various interests. |
