     I have the learning objectives for each section listed above the activities and topics proposed for that section.


                               In this section you will have the opportunity to learn how to save
                               graphics that you find on the WWW.  You will also be registering
                               for your free Homestead Web site and taking a tour that describes
                               how Homestead works and the many features you can have in your
                               site.  In addition, you will be using all of your writing assignments
                               from Lesson 11 to make one cohesive paper that will provide
                               information about The Beatles on your new Web site.

Lesson 11:  BEATLE  WEB PAGE ACTIVITIES

 

Assignment 5 Objective: 
Given a computer, Web browser, Internet connection, word processor, and access to a Homestead Web page account, apply knowledge and skills transferred from prior experiences to planning and creating a Web page about one of The Beatles, their manager, or their producer.

Assignment 5 Only 1 Choice
1.   Go to the Homestead Product Info Site and find out about the different Homestead products.  PC's will use Homestead Site Builder, Macintosh and Web TV will use Homestead Express.

1.   Go to the Homestead Web site and click on the sign up for a free Web site.
2.   After you sign up for your free Web site, go back to the Homestead Home Page and click on take the tour.
Assignment 5  Only 1 Choice  Using a word processor and all of the writing assignments #1, #2, #3, and #4, combine the material into one cohesive paper that you will use for the information section of your site. 
Assignment 5  Only 1 Choice  Using a word processor build upon what you have learned in the Homestead Homepage tour and write a hierarchal list of everything you want to include in your Web site.  You will use this for your own purposes in the next assignment.   Include elements that you will need including: chat room, guest books, e-mail, hit counter, and more.
Assignment 5 Choice #1  Select the "Build a Site: Start with a blank page" option on the homepage of  the Homestead Web site.  This option will allow you to choose your own layout and colors.  Explore and discover on your own all the tools you need: chat room, guest books, e-mail, hit counter, and more. 
Assignment 5 Choice #2 Select the "Build your own personal homepages" option on the homepage of  the Homestead Web site.  This option uses templates that allow you to build a site with pre-determined colors and layouts.  You can post photos quickly and easily.  Explore and discover on your own all the tools you need: chat room, guest books, e-mail, hit counter, and more. 
Assignment 5 Choice #3 Select the "Build a site: Teens" option on the homepage of  the Homestead Web site.  This option uses templates that allow you to build a site with pre-determined colors and layouts.  You can post photos quickly and easily.  Explore and discover on your own all the tools you need: chat room, guest books, e-mail, hit counter, and more.
