| What To Do With Your Guard |

| The most popular question in guard (socially speaking) is what should I do with my guard? It's a very simple question indeed, which is why I put up the section of the site. Have fun spending time with your guard! |
| 1. Have a sleepover- Sleepovers are a great way to get to know your guard as well as the guard parents who are hosting the sleepover. You can watch movies, tell stories, and do other stuff that will help you bond better. If you don't have a special connection with your guard then you won't have a very good season. 2. Hold a car wash- These are an excellent way to get closer to your guard and make money for equipment and or trips as well. Also, if its a really hot day and you don't feel like heading to the nearest pool, you can spray yourself and other people with a hose =). 3. Have a circle meeting- This is when your guard either before a game or parade can stand or sit in a circle and express their feeling about how the game or parade will go. When you release all of your nervousness and tension in the cirle, you will feel better and be relaxed for whatever event you are participating in. 4. Have a secret guard fairy- Ever heard of a secret santa? Well this is kinda like that except its a secret guard fairy. You would put all of your guard members names into a hat and have everyone pick a name from the hat. They wouldn't be able to tell the person if they got their name or else it wouldn't be a secret. Then by the next game or event the person would get a gift $5 or under (or can be hand made, which is best =) ) for the person they picked and stick it in the secret guard fairy bag. Then your captain would hand out each gift and let everyone open then at the same time and have everyone sit down and reveal who had whose name. This would be good to start a half an hour or more before whatever event you would be in that day. 5. Adopt a Newbie- This is from Danielle. All you have to do is get an older guard member to watch out for and help a new guardie. Get the whole adopt a newbie concept? Good =). |
