| Were bashed Were trashed Were never acknowleged Were Never appreciated Were always talked about Were underfounded Were shoved aside & forgotten about Were made fun of Were talked about Were pushed around BUT Were a family Were having fun We have great instructors We have great kids who want to strive for their best We practice through anything Were there for each other We always have great shows with great people We make friend from everywhere We make enemys from everywhere ;o) But through all the problems, and tribulations. . we always come out on top with smiles and trophys, and memories to look back upon and realized that maybe no one cares- but you do. . and you know you are doing and have done great things. . and one day when we get the acknowledment we deserve. . you'll know you played a big part in it after all This poem comes from MY ODE TO COLORGUARD |

| Parade Mentality by Danielle Strenko While I'm twirling, I must glisten. With careful ears, Always listen. Drumbeats slow, Even, labored. Drumbeats fast, Quick, explosive. My feet must keep, up with the beat. My hands must move. As down the street, I march with pride, My head held high. I cannot smile. I cannot laugh. It would cut, Our score in half. The end is near, And yet I know, Several paces, More to go. My flag is sharp, Snaps to and fro. The judges smile. The people clap. But straight I march, Right through the gap. For days I practiced, To a driving beat. And all that is left now, Is to follow my feet. |
