It's been a while since I've posted anything new but I've not had anything new to post, until now. The last few weeks have not been very easy on me. We took a trip to Virginia Beach, VA and the long drive was really hard. My back has been bothering me a lot since then. We ate at some real nice resturaunts while there, which was not good either LOL. We threw a nice little BBQ for the Fourth of July and I ate and drank too much then as well. So, needless to say, my weight loss has been pretty much at a stand-still. However, I've gotten myself back on the old bandwagon and I'm on track again. Now for the news! As of today, I've hit another goal. I am finally below 300 pounds! I weighed in at 298.5 this morning (about 40 times because I couldn't believe I was finally there!). That makes my total loss 138.5 pounds so far. I've not been under 300 since somewhere about 1993 or so. My next goal is to go under 266. That would be lower than I've ever been in my adult life. I'm shooting for Labor Day, which will be about the 3 year anniversary of my coming home from rehab after my surgery. After that, who knows!
I have also discovered over the past few months that my condition really has a name. It's called Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES). Now, I'd heard my doctor refer to the term before but I didn't realize that was MY condition, the name for it. I'm not sure if I'm happy to find this out or not. It's good to know that I'm not alone it what I'm dealing with and that some of the things I "feel" are not in my mind. On the other hand, I hate to know that other people are dealing with this condition, too. I've found a really good web site on CES, The Cauda Equina Resource Center, so if you are interested in learning a little more about this condition, by all means, check them out.
I've not gotten around to getting any new photos posted as I'd planned. I am going to make a dilligent effort to do so this weekend though. And I'll try to make them better than the lousy current ones on here now.
