An Intruder was moving through the halls of the Xavier Institute, Wade sensing it started to close in, using telepathy to silently alert the others, they come face to face with this intruder and are quite easily knocked aside. A combat trained teleporter�who knows all their best moves. The fight ends before anyone really gets hurt, and that�s when he introduces himself. His name is Gabriel Raiden�the son of Wade Gibson and Gwen Raiden. Gabriel tells the X-Men that he�s traveled back in time because he needs to X-Men�s help. Sometime in the very near future nearly all of the X-Men are kills. The only break they get is that most of their children were away with a few of the adults. Gabriel says they don�t know who was responsible for the attack because records didn�t survive the holocaust that followed. He says that their children�s lives are in danger and that if they come with him, they might stand a chance of finding out who was responsible for the assassination, and therefore they�d be able to stop it from happening in the first place.
Seeing little other choice, the X-men agree, but decide to split into two teams, one to remain behind to try and guard the Institute, and the other to go forward in time.
The trip there is draining, and they appear in the middle of a desolate wasteland. Worse yet is that Gabriel is missing. Sentinels are landing all around them and none of them have the strength to fight�that�s when they are saved...but the grown up versions of their own children. The Next Gens.
The Next Gen�s make short work of the Sentinels, but that�s when they see something off in the distance, something that makes their blood turn to ice. An Omega Sentinel. Humans or Mutants changed into machines by the new government. They call to their pilot.
The Brotherhoods Blackstar, older, more battle worn and beaten cuts through the sky, picking all of them up and retreating to their safety zone. The caverns beneath the former BH base, destroyed during Amorphus� imprisonment. Best yet is the shocking surprise, their rescue pilot and leader of the rebellion, is none other than Amorphus himself, now calling himself Adam Corgan, and to add to the shock, he�s lost his powers forever! Together he and the children of people he'd once sworn to destroy are all that stands in the way of Mutant kinds annihilation.
Also learned is that among the adult survivors are Star Kastia, and Gwen Raiden. Steena Croft had survived and formed a partnership with Adam, but was poisoned and dies the very night the X-Men arrive. Wade�s hatred for his future version of his brother is no less than the one in the present when he finds that Adam and Gwen have been sleeping together for some time, both of them using each other to cope with the loss of their perspective loves.
The teams formed up. Adam, Steena, Negate, Lily, Dakota, Girard, Katy, and Demetrius went to a helicarrier that was planning to launch a gas catalyst into the atmosphere, the gas would cover the eastern sea-coast and kill every mutant it came into contact with, this was to be the first attack of many.
Gwen, Star, Maxine, Vlad, Kinesis, Shayla, Tess, Eon, Merrick, Jamar, Donovan, Regina, and anyone not mentioned were sent to Washington, making an explosive entry through fortress like walls and breaching the White House.
Aboard the helicarrier Adam and crew fought sentinels and soldiers alike as they made their way across the deck, getting below and working their way down. Dakota stayed on the Black Star, covering them and no doubt saving their lives until they could get below. The Sentinels soon gathered and the Black Star erupted in a final explosion, Dakota dying with it.
Tess finally found the power she'd been told she had, slicing into the security system as the Washington team fought off hundreds upon hundreds of anti-mutant strike troops, each packing their deadly stunner weapons, capable of removing a mutants powers forever. Tess destroyed the computerized security unlocking doors and shutting off automated turrets and other counter measures, the action so massive and so severe that she was killed in the process.
As Adam's team made their way to the bowels of the ship they faced not one, but two Omega Sentinels. The Omegas to their shock and horror turned out to be Charly Haile and Professor Charles Xavier, both thought dead long ago. Omega Charly separated Adam from the group as security walls dropped into place, she quickly set to work shattering bones. Omega Xavier fired off a shot that vaporized Lily's leg as it set into the others.
In Washington it was revealed that Wade had also been turned into an Omega Sentinel. Wade had been kidnapped almost a week before. The shock stayed for only a moment before a second Wade stepped around the corner and crushed the omega with telekinetic shrapnel. The Omega sentinel, the Wade who was supposed to have perished in the schools destruction 13 years before. The second Wade was the Wade kidnapped before, he'd been held prisoner at the military fortress, and was only set free because of Tess's sacrifice. The celebration was short lived as Gwen was shot and killed after knocking Wade clear of an X-beam that would have stripped him of his powers.
Aboard the helicarrier the Omega Charly was choking the life from Adam, he pleaded with his lost wife, begging her to remember, to not destroy the last chance they had to make things right. Omega Charly turned and fired upon Omega Xavier, who fired back, Xavier destroyed quickly while Charly was fatally wounded, returning as something of her old self just long enough for the lovers Charly and Adam to have the goodbye they never had before. Adam, still separated by a fairly resistant metal, now with several laser holes through it, turned and painfully made his way into the weapons core room. There he discovered the remote to the bomb had been destroyed in the fight. Gabriel arrived just in time as Adam told them all to leave. Gabriel teleported them away and Adam made his final move towards amending the evil he'd done. He manually detonated the bomb, laying down his own life for the lives of countless others.
Adam's team, what was left of it arrived in Washington to reinforce the others who were bogged down, they were seconds too late to stop Maxine from being cut down by gunfire, but her life was sacrificed to destroy two devices that were preventing the psychics from using their abilities to press on. With what was left of the group reunited they made their way into what was supposed to be the archive room, the room sealed and the door disappeared from some advanced and unknown technology. That�s when it occurred to Wade, how was the future version of his son, Gabriel able to still exist with Gwen dead?
Gabriel revealed himself as Kang the Conqueror, a time traveling human able to walk the sands of time, accumulating power and vast technology. The Mutants engaged him in battle, unable to land a single hit, and how could they? He'd seen this entire fight, he knew every move they'd throw, and just how to dodge it, that added to his powerful gauntlets providing him with both shields and superior firepower.
He held Wade before him, ready to literally tear his head off as he choked the life from him, Wade's hand touched the time travelers helmet, the source of his time traveling power. Wade could see the man's life, where'd he'd been, what he'd do. Wade could see him in the past setting the explosive in the institute. Through contact with the helmet Wade was able to send a single warning back to Logan, who was there at the institute. Logan heard the message and now alerted to the intruders presence tracked him down and took off his hand with his adamantium claws.
In the future Kang lost his grip on Wade as he watched in horror, his hand dissolving off, the changes in the past effecting the future. Wade managed to get away from Kang as mutants took their revenge on Kang. He attempted to dodge, but once more in the past Kang was stabbed by a furious Wolverine. Remembering the pain as new scars formed on his body, he hesitated and caught every hit, both versions of Kang dying at once. The horrible fate averted for them.
By some anomaly in time the future timeline didn't instantly disappear. The X-men regrouped and said their goodbyes to the Next Gen's, as well as to Steena who'd made her choice to stay and watch over the kids now that Adam was gone.
The X-men used Kang's helmet to return to the present, each now made more aware that no matter how bad things got, no matter how strong the adversary's they faced, they would be there, the heroes of humanity, from Now� To Infinity
