Powers
As a metamorph Paige is able to shed the outer layers of her flesh at will, revealing a new skin underneath formed of different materials such as rubber, glass, diamond, and various forms of metal, or to achieve metabolic changes in her template form, such as removing caked up dirt and grime or shedding wounded layers of tissue. She can shift only into forms that do not exceed her body mass, and injuries sustained while in husked form will usually remain when she returns to human form.

Personality
Paige has always been very proud to be a mutant, occasionally causing her to be overly confident in herself and her abilities. Though always eager to please, she has also learned to step into the role of a leader and tell her team when they've made mistakes. She consistently tries to better herself, making her a perpetual bookworm, organizational freak, and an impressive athlete.

History
Paige grew up in Cumberland, Kentucky, the second oldest in a large family. When her older brother Sam discovered that he was a mutant, it not only excited Paige, but ignited a jealousy in her. She was convinced she had to be a mutant too, and began trying to discover her own mutant power.
After trying to find it for months, in a variety of different ways, frustration built up until one night, she screamed to the sky that she'd tear her skin off if she didn't find her mutation, and when she pulled her hands apart, the skin peeled off with it to reveal a new form. At the age of 13, Paige had found her ability.
Despite her excitement at this revelation, it wasn't until she was 16 that she finally revealed them to the rest of the world by sneaking along on a mission with her brother's team, X-Force. Proving herself useful, though overeager and untrained, Paige was invited to the Massachusett's Academy, a lesser known affiliate of Xavier's Institute.
She remained there as a member of the Generation X team until the school closed after her sophomore year, at which point she transferred to Xavier's Institute to join the newly formed Hellions team, under the leadership of Xander Corgan. The remaining years of her high school career weren't always entirely smooth. She found her first love in Obrecon, a Shi'ar god warrior that took over Xander's form, and who later became her first heartbreak. By senior year she was leader of the next trainee team, the Corsairs, and the youngest X-Man on the team.
A well hidden affair with teacher and leader of the X-Men, Warren Worthington, was revealed the same week she graduated as valedvictorian, forcing him to leave the Institute. In his absence, Paige is acting as leader of the X-Men as she prepares to start classes at Columbia, as well as begin teaching at Xavier's, in the fall.
