For years Professor Charles Xavier strove for a dream, a dream of all human life at peace with itself. A dream in which baseline humans and those with active X-genes, or mutants, could live in a peaceful coexistence.
To help foster his dream Xavier created a school for mutant children, a place where they could be safe from the persecution and dangers of a prejudice society. The Students grew, they became teachers to help raise others like them, and as time went on, they became stronger. A day came when the second generation of students became adults; powerful, courageous men and woman who knew no fear, they defied the laws of reality, the limits of the human drive, and the boundries of time and space.
Now only a few short months after The United Nations has introduced a law that would ban mutants from using their abilities in any way. Solution 41 said that if any mutant where to demonstrate their powers in any sort of public setting anywhere in Europe, that person would be tried and imprisoned in a maximum security penitentiary for a term of no less than seven years. The action was voted down only for a short time, before individual countries starting proposing their own Solution 41's. China, Russia, Germany, Austria, Pakistan, Iran, France, Poland, and now even parts of Africa have all passed Solution 41, some countries taking much more serious measures of punishment than imprisonment.
England is becoming a war zone. Prime Minister Tony Blair is strongly opposing Solution 41 and is fighting to keep it out of England, which has caused many of the best and worst of mutants to gather there, and with such prejudism about, the street brawls are becoming devastating. Political Analysts are beginning to say that if England passes Solution 41, it will only be a matter of time before the United States does the same.
England has become the front line. Soldiers and Ambassadors are needed. Charles Xavier, sensing that the tides of this pre-war have spread to new shores, has asked two of his former students to join with an old colleague to begin preperations for a new team to fight for mutant kind. Wade Gibson and his wife Gwen Raiden are just the first of many who will aid in this endeavor.
