Gwen's entire body is electrically charged. She can create and control an electrical charge of nearly limitless voltage.. She can shoot this electricity from her body, usually hands or eyes, in bolts, or invisibly through the ground or air. She has a small level of telekinesis, just enough to allow her to form and control her electricity. She recently gained the ability to turn herself into pure electricity in the form of lightning, a power only harnassed after extensive training.
Born to a wealthy farmer and his wife, she spent the first several years of her life on the family plantation. As a child, her powers were active, though they were weak and benevolent, only occasionally appearing in the form of small power failures around the house. In time, they caused more damage, leading her parents to tote her throughout the world in search of a cure.
Recently, she made her way across the pond with her husband to fight for mutant equality on a new level, and a new team, Excalibur. She found her life there easily, much more easily than she ever expected to. With a position at the Oxford University Library that she loved, her marriage strong as ever, and her mind on the future, things were going well.
As a new threat, Apocalypse, arose she fell into a now natural battle mode. In the final moments of the fight, after the enemy was already defeated, the last thing she ever expected to happen threw her life off course. Wade was killed, and shortly after, she found out she was pregnant.
Only days after giving birth to Gabriel, she was surprised with the return of the Phoenix, and thusly, her husband. Now she has to adjust not only to the addition to her life, but to being a mother as well.
