| -This past weekend saw not only the most entertaining, but definitely the most monumental and shocking Hardcore Holi-Daze in the event's three year history! -The "Real Deal" Dean Collins FINALLY regained the CFWA Heavyweight Championship (that he had lost in February) on Saturday night in what has been the match of the year thus far when he defeated his arch rival "Attitude" Chris Ryan. -Saturday night also saw the first real "shoot" in the CFWA when Torturous Tony Sly "pinned" The Superstar Nick Best in their 2 out of 3 Falls Hardcore Match after Best had obviously kicked out. The tension between these two strong willed bookers had been mounting for months and this was evidently Danny Wagener's (a.k.a. Torturous Tony Sly) immature way of pushing Best over the edge and getting him to quit because from what I have been told, Best was told before the show that he would be winning the match. From where I sit, the CFWA has lost a very talented wrestler who had a future as a top "face" in the CFWA and would have made a great CFWA Heavyweight Champion. I wish Best the best of luck in his MDW. Danny Wagener's ego is out of control and his politics drove Nick Best out of the CFWA, and I will bet good money that Wagener will be taking the CFWA Heavyweight Title off of The "Real Deal" Dean Collins and putting it around his own waist in no time. -In a related note, "Shooter" Chet Hartwood's departure from the CFWA was known prior to the show this weekend, but his impromptu promo after his match was a "shoot" and not intended to be part of the show. The CFWA would like to wish "Shooter" Chet Hartwood the best of luck in the MDW. -In a related note, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Axle "The Grizzly" Bayre now that his mentor and tag team partner "Shooter" Chet Hartwood has left the CFWA. Hmmmm, maybe he will begin donning a dress and wig more often.... -The CFWA is very sad to see Bambi go, but we wish her the best of luck in Mexico. No doubt that Matt McClaren will be seeking revenge against Thanos at New Year's Revolution for costing him his match Saturday that resulted in Bambi having to leave town. -Former MDW Universal Champion The DON Mike Michaels made his CFWA debut Saturday night when he wrestled Black Hawk County Champion The Natural Steve Kincaid to a double count out. Whether this was just a one time gig or whether The DON will make future appearances in the CFWA is not yet known at this time. -Jordan Nye (a.k.a. Blackjack Daniels) was reprimanded for his impromptu "shoot" on Friday night and as a result was relegated to security on Saturday night. His future in the CFWA is in question. -Former CFWA superstar A-Bomb was seen backstage both nights this weekend speaking with friends and the CFWA Front Office about a possible return to the ring in 2002. -Speaking of indefinite futures, Riff Harrison was beaten quite severely at the hands of Thanos on Saturday night, and it is unknown whether he will return to the CFWA only to be further abused at the hands of the Dynasty. In addition, Brick was indefinitely suspended this weekend, so the number of wrestlers remaining to combat the Dynasty continues to dwindle. |
