Golden Eagle from Frozen Sperm
Scientists in Scotland have become the first in the world to breed a golden eagle successfully using frozen sperm. Professors and scientists around Great Britain all believe this to be a definite break through, and a very important step in helping to safeguard some of the world's most threatened species.
The golden is three weeks old. The 'cryo-chick' is named Crystal.
In Scotland, there are around 400 pairs of golden eagle still facing the persecution from illegal poisoning and egg thieves.
