Link to another thread

Posting a link to a specific thread isn't hard, but you have to be careful not to give away your password by accident.  If you go to the thread you want to link, the URL in the address bar will look something link this:

www.cigarfamily.com/cf4/thread.cfm?Room=Humidor&threadId=20585&z=13
       &password=YOURPASSWORD&memberid=YOURMEMBER#

&onlineName=YOUMEMBERNAME&session=DSKJ4D...

I added the color and broke it into 3 line to make it easy to read.  You could just use the instructions on the previous page to replace the red text in the sample with all of that above.  One little problem, notice what information is in the maroon text above, your password, username and ID#!  If you email or post that link, everyone receiving it now knows your password and if they clicked on the link would be logged in as you, with a checkmark!  To avoid this, delete everything in maroon before making your link.

This leave us with this part:

 www.cigarfamily.com/cf4/thread.cfm?Room=Humidor&threadId=20585&z=13

This is the part that is ok to use.  Everything up to the question mark is in every CF lounge link.  Everything after the question mark selects thread you want.  The Room and Thread ID are obvious, but what is the "&Z=13" for?  Without the Z, the link will go to the top of the thread.  With the z, it will go to the numbered post - in this case the 13th post on the page.  Know how threads have a list of people who posted at the top?  If you click on one of the names, the Z= is added to the URL.  So if it is a 100+ thread and you want to jump right to The Master's first post, click on his name in the list of posters, cut and paste the link from your address bar, delete everything in maroon above (everything after the Z=#), and replace the red text below with what is left:

<a href="http://www.URL.com" target="_blank">ClickMe</a>

The link at the top of this page would be typed like this:

<a href="http://www.cigarfamily.com/cf4/thread.cfm?Room=Humidor&threadId=20585&z=13" target="_blank">ClickMe</a>

and in the post it would look like this:

 ClickMe
