STARLIGHT

An angel alit on a lavender star
A tinsel town queen in a dark, dirty bar
Uncrossing her legs, she called for a drink
Then flattered the room with a nod and a wink
A big man approached with a beer belly grin
While the angel just sparkled with light from within
He reached out to touch her, and said, “Howdy do.”
“I’ve been searching the stars for an angel like you.”
The angel just smiled with martini eyes
A lump in her throat, his hand on her thighs
Then gently she lifted her gabardine glow
A radiant beauty, his 3-dollar ho
Together they drifted away towards the street
With sprinkles of starlight surrounding their feet
The very next day, she was back at the bar
A vision from heaven, a fresh fallen star
Then another dark stranger took a piece of the light
And tore another star from the blackness of night
