Once shadows swirled behind my door
Upon the edge of nevermore
Where feathered ravens swooped and danced
Asking questions bathed in chance
And in the silence, so serene
The polished wood and oaken sheen
Kept me from the world outside
In empty darkness I could hide
Then you knocked upon my door
Like waves that lap on timeless shores
I told you once to go away
But your love would not betray
And with a groan, the door swung wide
And caught me napping, safe inside
You stirred my soul and took my hand
And led me from this shadowed land
Together now, the feeling grows
While far behind, the door swings closed
