Adam
ate food
from the land from the withunder and
away from the garden he went
God
shed a tear, throwing brimstone and thunder,
but Eve couldn’t see what it meant
From
warm fertile soil to hard barren tundra,
creation was falling hell-bent
And
darkness fell down, the alliance was
sundered, allowing no soul to repent
The
stars fell down in open-eyed wonder,
dropping on floors of cement
And
God gave a roar at the first cosmic blunder
in the hopes the stars would relent
This
motley crew is your legacy
This
crude manner is your inflection
This
cold comment is your reminder
And
this reputation
It’s
mine
