Shenandoah National Park
So I skipped work one Thursday in July, and my friend Whitney and I drove about 50 miles of the northern portion of the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.  Along the side of the road we saw a mother black bear and two cubs foraging for food.  Earlier we saw a second, bigger black bear run across the road and up the Appalachian Trail.

We hiked a short portion of the Appalchian Trail at Beahms Gap earlier in the trip.  It was a good thing we did that before we saw the bear hanging out on the trail.

We later hiked down from the Skyline Drive to see Dark Hollow Falls.
