| Chapter 23 |
| "How's this?" Leli asked Chaco, as the Knightdom of Matilda finally came into view. "We're taking this prisoner in for questioning." She tried to make her voice sound deeper. Chaco tried not to laugh, but couldn't help it. When Leli shot him an angry look, he managed to mellow down to a chuckle. "Sorry, Tart...you don't make a good man." Leli thought about this a moment. "I don't know weather to be insulted or not." She finally said. "All right, guys, it's show time!" Seyona pulled harder on the rope tying Chaco as they approached the Matilda castle gate. Two guards were posted there, neither one of them looking very friendly. Seyona took a deep breath and looked up at one of the guardswaaaaay up. She hadn't realized just howbig these people were. She swallowed. "Erexcuse me?" she asked the guard, her 'male' voice better than Leli's was. The guard slowly lowered his head to look down at them. "Yes?" "ErWe need to speak to Sir Miklotov about our prisoner here." She indicated Chaco, who was trying to look menacing. The guard looked at them a moment. "Wait here." He finally said. Then he turned and ran into the castle gates, his armor clanking the whole way. The three of them stood in the uncomfortable silence of the other knight, who didn't look like he wanted to start any sort of a conversation. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the guard knight came running back with two other knights- one red, one blue. "Which one's Miklotov?" Seyona whispered to Leli. "Umthe blue one, I think." Leli answered, and Seyona nodded. The knights stopped, and Seyona thought they looked even more intimidating than the ones before. She suppressed a shudder of fear and stood her ground. At last, someone broke the silence. The blue knight suddenly bowed. "Greetings, fellow Matilda knights." "Greetings." Seyona replied, and bowed. Leli followed suit, and suddenly sneezed. That got a weird look from the knights, and of course, Seyona had to come up with something. She thought fast. "Ermy friend here is a little ill. It's been a long journey." "You've traveled far?" The red knight was interested. "You must tell us of your travels, but firstwhat are you doing with Chaco?" Again, Seyona had to think fast. "We caught him stealing on the journey and couldn't just leave him unpunished" The blue knight nodded. "So you brought him here, good work, knights." "His crime wasn't too serious, I expect?" the Blue knight looked at Leli, who shook her head and sneezed again. "Well, I guess we'll have to put you in the prison for the night, Chaco." The red knight decided. "Miklotov, why don't you take your blue knight and give him a bath or something because he reeks." Leli flushed in embarrassment, but let herself be taken away by Miklotov. One of the guard knights started to drag Chaco away, who was now kicking and screaming. "I'll get you for this, Rudolf!" He screamed over his shoulder at Seyona. The red knight looked at her strangely. "You're name is Rudolf?" Seyona ground her teeth. "That Winger is so dead" She mumbled under her breath. "Did you say something?" the Red knight asked. "Nothing." Seyona shook her head. "Oh" The red knight thought a moment. "Want to go get a drink?" Seyona thought about it for a moment. "Sure, I guess" "Good, lets go!" the red knight grabbed her by her shoulder and dragged her away. |
