Over The Hill!
(Monday; August 19, 2002)
I've been too busy to write about some cool things that I've experienced, recently. I'm taking the next few hours to catch up.

Today is Uncle Jonathan's 50th birthday. On Saturday, there was a big birthday bash for him. Uncle Jonathan never really turned into a Crusty Old Fart. 50 is a thing for a lot some people, but not necessarily for everybody. But there is such a thing as not going out of one's way to mention things. I, for one, celebrated for which it was intended. While everyone else is trying to recapture or hold onto their superheroic youth fantasies, Uncle Jonathan has always been upfront and bluntly honest about where his interests lie. I hope I’m able to do another post about his new stuff when he hits 100!
There once was a dragon from Morris,
Who's fiery breadth was our chorus
Intelligent designers, god simps and whiners
all burned to a crisp right before us.

All Basil Fawlty's excuse-making wouldn't have got be out of that one.

I wrote earlier today about not having time and feeling like there isn't enough time for things, and I think the conclusion I've reached that we have to give ourselves permission to make time for the things we really want to do. In my case, I need to have full access to my creative brain. Fear is the enemy of creativity, and I have to just stop being afraid.
