With a Certificate in Percussion Performance from the Berklee College of Music, James Mader uses his passion for drumming to energize the elementary music classroom.� Currently a music educator in Broward County, he uses an innovative cross-cultural curriculum to raise students� academic and lifeskills.� His classes are designed to develop students� math, reading, science, language arts and social studies skills through the academic study of music.� James has authored several pieces of elementary, middle and high school level music.� His workshop will combine African, Caribbean, and Latin drumming, movement and song.� James has studied with Sowah Mensah, musician, composer and Ghanaian Master Drummer.�

Dr. Angie Broeker is Director of Choral Activities at the University of St.Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota.� She is a national clinician and has presented for MENC, ACDA, OAKE and AOSA.� Angie has also served as guest conductor for honor choirs throughout the US, including the 2008 OAKE Children�s Honors Chorus in 2008.� Her expertise in choral music has led to several publications.� She is equally versed in Kodaly and Orff pedagogy.� Angie�s workshop will focus on vocal development in the Orff classroom.�

February 6, 2010 � Sunshine State Orff Workshop featuring
Chris Judah-Lauder
Chris Judah-Lauder is a nationally renowned clinician and a teacher of Orff level courses.� She teaches at Good Shepherd Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas and her performing groups have been featured at many high profile events including the AOSA national conference. Chris is the co-chair of the National AOSA conference which will be held in Milwaukee in November of 2009.� She has numerous publications that are used in elementary music rooms throughout the country.�� Her vast experience and knowledge of Orff Schulwerk are evident in every page of her books!�

March 13, 2010 � CFOC/ FEMEA District IV Sharing Session
This workshop highlights the best practices of some of the fabulous music teachers who are members of Central Florida Orff Chapter and District IV FEMEA.�
Location: Sweetwater Elementary; Volusia County
The Central Florida Orff Chapter was begun in 1984 in the living room of our first president, Carolyn Minear.  CFOC received its charter in Las Vegas in 1985.  Our final workshop of the 2007-08 year began our 25th anniversary celebration.

The mission of the Central Florida Orff Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association is:

Each year our chapter awards
scholarships to deserving members to attend Levels Certification training.  These scholarships are in honor and memory of Mary Gibson.   Requirements and applications will be posted on this website in the fall and and due in the spring of each year.
