Cherryl Floyd-Miller
Haiku from "The Adultress" Series

1
panorama, hopscotch
face in a crowd, here then gone
butterscotch, spring

2
a wink and a nod
early morning petal beads
prickly heat, dew

3
two sets of brown eyes
focus, aperture, quick flash
undulating sun

4
infatuation:
dry mouth, smothering air
just before the breeze

5
fingers chafe flesh
splayed hands digging spiky hair
midnight: tapered lit

6
here and there and there
finger imprints gone too soon
night fizzles, full moon

7
empty bed, white sheets
how to preserve the scent of you?
sink to sheet white snow
