Chock Full back while in the middle of my promotional tour to get the Chock Full o' Fighting federation some funding [more on that later] to relay some important news!
For one, Just the Facts! will be back in full operation for rumors, news, opinions, prognostications, and... rankings? Damn skippy! In the recent weeks, JTF! Inc., part of the Chock Full Empire [well... my office in my home] has been taking applications for a new ranker for the site and will should have someone by the re-start date, September 30th. We've started interviewing some of the applicants, but so far none have panned out to have the vast knowledge of some of the great wrestling minds of today's industry [um... well, I'm sure there's some]. Anyway, if you think you've got what it takes, just send an e-mail with your qualifications to [email protected].
But did you think that's all? Did you think that's all there was to this update? Hell no! As stated earlier, while I've been away, I've also been a funding tour, trying to get sponsors for the little CFF project I had in July. So what does this mean? Well, not only will I be owner and operator of wrestling top information site, but I'll also be the newest, freshest, and hottest wrestling owner [ok, ok... those last two may be wishful thinking]. But really, this means that there will be a new federation on the block - Chock Full o' Fighting. I've already got some sponsors for the federation - Matress Giant, Chickie's and Pete's, and Pat's King of Steaks - and will have some more. So the money should be flowing in to help bring in more talent to league.
"Big deal, you got more money," you say? Well it means that in addition to heaving such wrestling pros like Keith Stebbins, Grant Stone, and the Mysterious Suited Guy; exciting new wrestlers like the Northern Lights Bomber, Graf Gregorius Ferdinand Van Eyderstyn, and Macht Kraftwerk II; and high action tag teams like Snob Hill and The Movie Buffs, the CFF will be signing NEW talent! Yes, that means all of you who think you've got what it takes to last in the ring can give it a go in the CFF squared circle! We've got only ten on the roster now [the six previous singles and two tags], so we're looking for an additional eight single wrestlers and two to four tag teams to take on the rigors of the wrestling industry's only action packed tour-de-force!
BUT WAIT! It's gets better! Cause with help of WGTW 48, the CFF will be on the Tee Vee! Whoo! The first official new TV show will be on October 1st, titled "The Start of Something Big". Both the CFF Championship and the CFF Tag Team titles will be on the line in a two match show.
One, a tag team match that should be the perfect opening to the CFF as four teams will vy for the CFF Tag Team titles. The rules are simple - to be eliminated, both partners have to be pinned. The last team remaining gets the gold. Already on tap are the Movie Buffs and the current champions, Snob Hill. Already heat there from their feud in July - who knows who will show up on 10/1 to get a shot at those double-golds.
And the other match, a battle royal unlike any other - no over the top nonsense here as the only way to get rid of people is to make them leave the fighting area or to beat them so badly, they've got to be carted off! It will be gruesome. It will be horrifying. It will be the Ultimate Battle! Current CFF champion, the Northern Lights Bomber, will be the main target as Keith Stebbins looks for revenge, and the likes of MSG, MKII, Graf, and Stone hot on his trails... plus the still unsigned eight wrestlers... It seems like the Bomber will have his work cut out for him in this unique battle.
So yes, we have been down - but in no way out! Come September 30th, the revamped Just the Facts! with rankings and then the next night, the CFF presents "The Start of Something Big"! It should be wild!
[Out of Character note: Yes, there will be a CFF fed that will be open to other characters. Me - Brendan - will be the fedhead and... somewhat writer, but will take things simple and easy and nothing too daunting. So yes, I'm serious here and I'd like any willing handlers to send their apps to [email protected]. I'm an open minded person, so I'll take shots and chances on unknowns and stuff.
Little about me for those not familiar - been in e-w for about six years now - started in Clint Fletcher's first fed, NeCW, with "Kain", who then became Mark Langseth in the EMWC. Also have handled Macht Kraftwerk, Keith Stebbins, Macht Kraftwerk, City Jack, and some other characters. Been in a whole host of feds - NeCW, EMWC, G-Pro, GLCW, RCW, GIW, FSW, and some league in-between. Haven't ever run a fed and have only written two matches in all my time... so yeah, rough goings early on.
Took a break while I've been getting settled in the DC area and should be fully moved in by mid-September (I sure hope so). The break was what I needed to get a little motivation going again.
As for the CFF, like I said, it will be a small fed with ten characters of mine to start with in addition to whatever characters I bring in for the fed. My characters may play a little prominent role in the beginning to get things kick-started, but should be fazed out (or the characters given away to other handlers should they turn out important). The characters I'm looking for must be new and either rookie-like or washed-up never-beens. No stars, no hot commodities, no characters that would hit the national radar, and definitely no characters that are in big feds or even mid-level feds. The character can only be in similiar, small, small-time feds.
As for the fed details, I'm looking for bi-weekly shows with summary shows from time to time. Shows will have a max of four matches, but doesn't mean there will always be four matches. The fed's location will be in the Philadelphia & Tri-State region, taking place outdoors in October, spring & summer, then in gyms, YMCAs, and Armories [for the big shows] for the winter months. As well, Chickie's and Pete's in the Northeast [a sports bar/restaurant with closed & open air room for a ring] for select, special shows during the year. Average attendance starting out will probably be something like 40 or less. And the budget should be tight, so nothing fancy.
Um... Well, no more huge details so far - I'll write up a FAQ and stuff to give a better picture. But until then, apply away!]
