                                                                         History

The Flying Squirrels were one of the CFFL's 1992 expansion teams.  They were also the worst team in CFFL history.
In 1992, they finished 7th out of 8 teams in the points standings, 480 points out of first.  They also finished last in their division with a 4-10 record and lost their only playoff game.  They set the CFFL record for the worst start to a season, going 0-7.
The team changed their name to the Invaders for the 1993 season, but it did little to change their fortunes as they dropped their first four games of the season.  The Invaders continued to struggle until after Week 6, when Invaders owner Jim Jamison revolted and left the league to start his own league, which folded after 2 weeks.  The CFFL announced that a lottery would be held to draft the team's players, and that all remaining games against the Invaders would be declared forfeits.
