                                                                         History

The Dolphins were an expansion team that began play in 1991.  They finished in last place in the points standings, 506 points out in their inaugural season.  They also finished in last place in their division, going 2-11-1.  However, they did manage to win 2 playoff games, making it all the way to the chmapionship game, where they lost to the Steelers 35-21.
The team fared a little better in their second season, finishing 5th out of 8 teams in the points standings in 1992, 366 points behind.  They finished 3rd in their division with a 6-8 record, and they once again won two playoff games to reach the championship, where they lost to the Tigers.
After the season, owner Jessica Karpuk decided to fold the team.  The Dolphins' players were placed in a pool with the Heat's players, and a draft was held to form up the 1993 rosters for the Heat and the expansion Broncos.
