Meet Us...

Hi there...my name is Kami Marsh and I am the owner of Clowns For Every Occasion, Lansing's premiere professional clown service. I began performing at children's parties in 1985 when the clown who was hired for a carnival didn't show up at the daycare I worked for at the time. "Essie Esimorp" was my first character and I enjoyed clowning for a hobby as well as a ministry at my church for many years. My bag lady (the only one in the Lansing area) character "Messy Essie" was created in 1996 and is used primarily for adult birthday telegrams. The next year, following the birth of my son Ricky, I created "Baby Essie" just for one-year-old parties, baby showers, and events that may have a lot of really young children at them. Raindrop (pictured on the main page with the feather duster), was the last clown character that I developed and has become the most popular choice for gatherings over the years.

In 1998, I created "Clowns for Every Occasion" and placed my first yellow pages ad as a way of generating income so that I could support my son and I, tend to his special needs, and return to college. I did only 55 parties that first year in business. Since that time, we have expanded to offer 8 different characters and have performed at as many as 200 events a year. We pride ourselves in a high volume of repeat business (over two-thirds!). Aside from the entertainment portion of our business, we donate a significant portion of our time and proceeds volunteering and focus primarily on children and/or cancer fundraisers.

We at Clowns for Every Occasion desire to help families create memorable events. We are constantly expanding to offer variety and individual attention that no other clown service in this area can match. Our eight characters include four clowns, a bunny, a gorilla, Santa and his helper. You can choose from a variety of party packages for almost every occasion imaginable. We also specialize in telegrams and offer two-clown packages as well.

I have grown up in the Lansing area most of my life and presently reside in East Lansing with my son. I recieved my Bachelor's degree from Spring Arbor University in Management and Organizational Development in 2000. In February of 2005, I received my Master's degree and state license in Counseling at the same school. I recently finished writing and publishing a book about overcoming losses in life based on my true life story and a trip I took down to the gulf coast and interviews I conducted with hurricane Katrina survivors(http://www.graceinthedesert.com). I also speak to various groups about the topic.

I have many years of varied experience working with diverse populations of all ages. I can provide Spanish and sign language and am experienced in working with both adults and children with developmental disabilities.

We have provided the entertainment for many area events including the lighting of the Capitol Christmas tree, the Royal Haniford Circus at the Breslin Center, the Ingham County Fair, the Howell Melon Festival, the opening of the State Library, former Governor Engler's triplets birthday party, the Eastwood Town Center grand opening, the Michigan Mile and much, much more.

We want your event to be as special as you do...

so, come celebrate with us...
