Report

Collingham travelled to Spilsby to play on a less than perfect surface in high winds and did very well to maintain their unbeaten record with a comfortable 4-1 victory.
A switch of fomation to a 4-4-2 was very effective today and the team played some good football. Nocivelli played a staring role today, he scored 2 but more imppresively his movement of the ball was fantastic as well as ability to hold up the ball and distribute the ball decisively. Other star perfomances that only slightly outshone a great team performance, was that of Parlett and Woolley. Parlett's presence at the back grows and makes the defence assured and safe. He controlled and dictated a back four superbly with Dawson. Woolley was also inspirational, he had many darting runs down the left flank often skipping, twisting and turning defenders for fun. Although he drifted in and out of the game he pulled off a very strong performance. This was also aided by Lamb who presented is best performance so far in the Tangerine shirt.
In the first half Collingham started well and constantly put Spilsby under pressure, it was inveitable we scored and we did after about 15 minutes. It was through a penatly that was conceded as a result of Spilisby's defence inability to cope with our persistant pressure. Nocivelli was brought down but got up to convert the justly awarded penalty with an absolute bullet of a shot that rifled in to the roof of the net. The second came from a 35 yard free kick...sounds spectacular but it wasn't. Jamie Gavin struck the back well and it should of been comfortably saved...however the keeper embarrasingly fumbled the ball in to his own net. A solid first half performance led us in with a 2-0 cushion.
In the second half we slightly struggled in comparison to the first, this could have been due to the harsh wind against though. However Collingham kept control and extended their lead thanks to Nocivelli who cooly placed the ball home after a good move. The defence were then caught napping and conceded a goal after White and Dawson failed to communicate efficiently. Wilkinson then duely converted the move of the match with a quality finish, and it finished the job for Collingham. A strong performance from a strong team well done!

James 'Nifty' Nocivelli - A quality performance today which showed Spilsby's defence to be inept of handling him. Well done!
