| Report Today we travelled to Park Avenue, expecting an away win...and I think that was our problem we expected it. Granted we played them off the park, however it was'nt enough to win the game and as a result we shared the points with Park Avenue. It all looked promising within the first 15 minutes, having all the possession in their half, even notching up 6 corners but what was witnessed in these 15 minutes was to tell the story for the rest of the match. In summary we dominated the game and created numerous chances however instead of missing most of them we missed them all, and yet again the opposition had their keeper as man of the match. The closest we came today was a great strike by Wilkinson which hit the crossbar at that moment it looked to be one of those days where nothing was going in. Betts, Dawson, Edens, Miller, Lamb, Cook and more all squandered chances that would have won the game for us. Thankfully the defence were very solid, despite losing the influencial Parlett midway through the first half. So full credit must go to the keeper and the defence with and without Parlett, inparticular Williams was very commanding in replacing him and Schlicht often made some crucial tackles and the warrior Woolley permanently on his whizzing runs. Today perhaps the team should have given a little bit more in terms of effort and showed a bit more composure on the ball. We often looked scared of keeping it and afraid of running at them with it, and the final delivery was often not up to scratch. However the forwards half to take some blame as it is their job to put the ball away. The team did respond well in the second half after a talking too, but Park Avenue had set their wall up and we just couldnt break it down. Well done, nonetheless. Its gone now so we must look to the next game. We are still top however the margin is getting smaller and smaller so we have to keep playing to our full ability and make sure we apply ourselves in the right ways.
