Latest CFCL Bulletin and Roster Changes

"Robinson could hit and bunt and steal and run.  He had intimidating skills, and he burned with a dark fire.  He wanted passionately to win ... He bore the burden of a pioneer and the weight made him more strong.  If one can be certain of anything in baseball, it is that we shall not look upon his like again."

Draft Day Feedback

Some of you may have noticed the thread in the CFCL Forum asking for feedback, thoughts, etc. about Draft Day - specifically things like the length, pace, format, etc.

There have been some suggestions for changes to the Draft, but the EC wanted to gather some feedback before we embarked on a league-wide discussion about revamping D-Day.  If you haven't done so yet (and as of now, that's all of you), please take some time to share your thoughts in the Forum.  Here's a link directly to the thread:

Draft Day Comments/Feedback

View from the Not-So-Cheap Seats

You know those new box seats the Cubs added to Wrigley Field this season - the ones that wrap right around home plate, from dugout-to-dugout?  My manager was lucky enough to take in both games of the Cubs-Padres doubleheader last week, sitting in the front row (a gift from her kids).  The seats were directly behind the Padres on-deck circle, and from all accounts the view was unbelievable.  Since I assume many of you are as unlikely as I am to ever occupy one of these seats, I thought you might appreciate the chance to see what you're missing.  Here's a link to the photos they took:

Roster Verification

I think I've got the rosters at TQS and in Excel (in the Download Center) verified in terms of salaries and contracts.  If you haven't done so yet, though, please spend some time double-checking to make sure I've got everything correct.  Let me know if there are any changes or things you'd like me to look into.

Hometown Discount Watch

In 2006, the teams that finished in 5th-12th place in 2005 will receive a budget of up to .06 to use toward reacquiring players who had played out their option with the team (B-contract players). The exact amount each team receives will be based on how far behind the 5th place team they are at the end of the year, in terms of a percentage of the 5th place team's point total.
