Winter Waivers, Fini (?)
Unless someone wants to take a flier on Misters Hollandsworth or Sisco,
chances are good that we’ve seen the end of Winter Waivers for 2004. Before we
call it quits, though, I have to point out that the period for Round 4 of
waivers will expire at 4:00 on
Friday, November 26.
Eight CFCL teams took the opportunity to retool a bit following the season,
with a total of 32 players finding new addresses in the past few weeks. To
summarize the whole thing, here’s a break down of who was claimed in the 2004
Winter Waivers:

Full Off Season Mode
Now that it appears Winter Waivers may be done, we’ll move
into full off-season mode. That means I’ll post news tidbits on the website
(under News Flashes), but won’t post a full Report until I’ve accumulated
enough news or there’s some kind of event to warrant it.
In order to be sure you’re keeping up with all CFCL events,
be sure to check the website regularly, and don’t forget the CFCL Forums. Feel
free to start debates/discussions there any time.

With Thanksgiving Day just around the corner, now seems an
appropriate time to say thanks to everyone for making the 2004 seasons one of
the best ever. It’s hard to believe the CFCL’s been going for over a fifth
of a century now, and it just seems to be getting better and better. Thanks
everyone!

Draft Day 2005
The target weekend for Draft Day next year is April
2 - 3. Based
on the past several years, Sunday April 3 is probably the date we’ll shoot
for, but that’s not guaranteed. Since we'll have at least one owner flying in
from out of town for the Draft, we'd like to select a firm date by late
January.
Topper Watch
In 2005, the teams that finished in 5th-12th
place in 2004 will receive a budget of up to .06 to use toward reacquiring
players who had played out their option with the team (B-contract players). The
exact amount each team receives will be based on how far behind the 5th
place team they are at the end of the year, in terms of a percentage of the 5th
place team's point total.
