Proud Papa

My oldest son, Andy (7 years old, second grade), was one of about 400 kids statewide selected to travel to Springfield this week to talk to members of the Illinois General Assembly about how their classes use computers and technology in school.
 Needless to say, it was quite a proud moment for Michelle and I to see our firstborn chatting up Senators and Representatives in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building as if he did it all the time (I don't know where he gets his outgoing nature).  What's this got to do with the CFCL you ask?

Well, getting organized for the trip, traveling there and back, then catching up at work for the time I missed took a considerable chunk of time this week. That, combined with getting ready Andy's First Communion and a family birthday party for my youngest, James, (both events this weekend), left very little time for getting this report ready, so it's going to be brief this week.

I also wanted to brag a little …
<grins sheepishly>

Roster Reminder

In a repeat from last week:  If you haven't done so yet, please spend a few minutes going over your roster at TQS and in the Excel file from the Download Center to make sure everything agrees with your records in terms of players and their salaries and contracts.  Let me know of any corrections that need to be made.

Topper Watch

In 2005, the teams that finished in 5th-12th place in 2004 will receive a budget of up to .06 to use toward reacquiring players who had played out their option with the team (B-contract players). The exact amount each team receives will be based on how far behind the 5th place team they are at the end of the year, in terms of a percentage of the 5th place team's point total.

Based on the standings through last Thursday, here are the teams that would receive Topper Budgets for use in the 2005 Draft and the amount each team would receive:
