Monday is September 1, which means two things:

Rosters can expand by one player.  You can activate a player from your Reserve List on Monday (Noon deadline) or on any subsequent Friday through the rest of the season.  The extra player can also be a free agent acquired during the regular Friday transactions, but keep in mind that free agents acquired during September receive a B contract (unless the bid is .25 or more).

In order to accommodate the extra player, the salary cap increases by .10 to 3.60.

The October 19^th screening of Trading the Gator is now being listed on the Chicago Historical Society’s website, so apparently that date is official.  The listing indicates the event also includes “a discussion with director Brad Morris” (http://www.chicagohs.org/programs_events.html).

After I mentioned the screening a few weeks ago, Paul, Kelly, and Matt G. said they planned on attending and that they’d be in favor of scheduling the banquet in the City for later that afternoon/evening.  Other than those three, though, I haven’t heard from anyone else, either in favor of or against the idea.  Please let me know what you think of holding the banquet downtown after the documentary screening.
