Camping Gear Checklist

Backpacking Camping

 

This checklist is for a backpacking troop campout.  Changes to this list will be provided if necessary depending on the outdoor activities planned.  All items should be packed in a hiking backpack.  For backpacking treks, checklist and packing instructions will be provided.

 

Clothing to wear during transportation to and from campout:

Scout shirt

 

Troop t-shirt under scout shirt (optional, but recommended)

 

Scout shorts/pants

 

Scout belt

 

Scout socks

 

 

Clothing to Pack:

Select clothing that is appropriate for the weather.  Be sure to include a set of cloths for each day of the campout.

Troop T-shirt

 

Shorts/Pants – Khaki, tan, or scout green if not scout shorts

 

Socks

 

Underwear

 

Sleep wear

 

Hiking boots or spare tennis shoes

 

Rain gear/poncho

 

Troop Hat

 

Jacket

 

For Cold Weather:

Long sleeve or flannel shirt to wear under T-shirt

 

Sweatpants/sweatshirt

 

Gloves

 

 

Toliet Items:

Soap

 

Shampoo

Comb/Brush

 

 

Equipment/supplies:

Sleeping bag or bedding (bed roll optional)

Mess kit (knife/fork/spoon, plate and cup)
