Carolus Linnaeus
Linnaeus , a Swedish botanist, developed a system for naming plants and animals that is still used today.
It is known as Binomial Nomenclature.
Linnaeus gave each organism a two-part name.
Today this system of two latin names is used by scientist everywhere. The science of naming these organisms is called TAXONOMY
