About me

My favorite artist: I love Spanish painting--el Greco; Velazquez; maybe some Murillo; Goya; some Picasso, though not his really abstract art--except for the 'Don Quijote-type' painting; I also like some Van Gogh, especially his empty boots picture (bleak, huh? but it was neat and focused and simple); and I like my sister's art--when she finishes anything! I also love the German pre-World-War II artist Kathe Kollwitz (ah! the importance of being Kathy another Kathy once said to me!) When I saw her engravings, I said, yes, if I were an artist, that is how I would draw.
My favorite music:It depends on the song--I do like some cowboy music and some jazz; among my favorite songs are Riding on the City of New Orleans and Stravinsky's Petrushka. I also like King of the Road and think The Lime in the Coconut says it all when it comes to medicine!
My favorite food: 3 favorites: lemons, habanero peppers, and refried beans. I used to like jalapeno peppers, but now I can't taste them at all.
