| Summary of Yearly Report 2004: State of programs: The 2004 was a disappointing year for CEVS. Apart from the provision of study materials to sponsored children at the begining of year, not much was achieved in respect of the other programs. The inability of the organiation to carry out community education programs, family meetings and indiviudal visits has been caused by the lack funding and absence of many members from Tamale due to commitments to further education in southern Ghana. In the last 2 years, we have applied to several avenues for funding but have not received any grants. In addition, contribution for memebers has declined because of our inability to recruit more members and the increased financial problems of members who now attend universities. Networking and Conferences: CEVS participated in 4 conferences during the year including the northenr network on Education workshops in Wa and Bolgatanga and other ebgagments in Kumasi. Mr. Nassam Iddrisu represented CEVS in these conferences. Further Education : Apart form those memebers who entered universities in Ghana in 2003/2004 to pursue further studies, Iddi Harruna (General secretary/public relations) was offered a place of study at Telemark University College , Norway. The dream to have more females in further education is still to become a reality. Other News: Mr. George Anefo who was Finace officer has left the organisarion to work in Accra. It is hoped that he can still contribute to the progress of the organisation. |
