Scholarship Meeting

Attendance: Jackie Jeffers, Meghan Sweeny, Nicole Booze, Rebecca Gutosky, Karen Possa and Scott McDavid

Called to Order: 12:00p.m.

CETP Committee Meeting:  Dr. Yasmin and Dr.Gill joined the meeting yesterday.

Dr. Peard and Kit: They will be here tomorrow, so we should try to stop in and see them. They would like to see the recruitment plan and project reports.  Webpages should be up and running.

11/14-15/03: Bloomsburg meeting for CETP directors.

Dr. Tom Lord: Meeting the deans at 3:00p.m. about the presentation of Dr. Lord’s teaching style, which was previewed last week.

Inventory: We have inventories on physics equipment and biology equipment Nicole and Jackie are finished.

10/6-7/03: Stop up at the Natali Center to see inquiry teaching in the performance center.

11/18/03: At 9:30-1:30 the summer inquiry based teachers will be back to talk about what happened with their lessons. They are going to talk about what worked and what did not work. Feel free to stop into Eberly to sit in on the discussion. Representatives from six different schools will be there .

Dr. Lord: Dr. Cignetti trying to set workshop for around mid October.

Amount of Money: Next time we meet Dr. Cignetti will have a balance for each of us to spend money on equipment. We should look for new software and books on recent subjects.

Karen Possa: She was here to talk about peer mentoring and how this could be part of recruitment. It is for freshmen and is mentored by upper classmen. For Secondary Education people are very hard to find. This is all on voluntary. There is weekly emails, and Jackie is going to give an email out to all mentors about the center as a resource center.
