CETP Scholar Meeting

Student Teaching: Alyssa Kutska, Jackie Prioletto, Courtney Rodgers, Julie Sabo, and Marian Sheptak

         

Minutes:

 

Call to Order: 12:00p.m.

 

Dr. Peard: He email Dr. Cignetti and wants to schedule a visit on a Tuesday or Thursday in the up coming weeks. Kit Jerman will also be coming to check out how the Holiday in at Belle Vernon for their upcoming meeting.

 

Work Schedule: Mark down what times we are available to work this semester.

 

Tutoring: Elementary majors want help in science and math for the praxis, so Dr. Cignetti told them to stop up soon.

 

September 17: We must have a write up on recruitment processes and what we are going to do for projects.

 

Amy Windwood: She works for admissions and is joining the committee. She works with community colleges, so we will be working with her through recruitment processes.

 

Communication: Jackie is working on the Narrative Progress Report. She is writing about the conference, and up coming events along with what we already went in this summer.

 

Organization: We need inventory on all equipment, and all equipment needs to be put away.

 

The Strategic Plan: The plan is written and being revised as we speak.

 

Dr. Wilkinson: He joining the CETP committee.

 

Dr. Lord:  A visit from Dr. Lord is in the works. As of now he will give a workshop for science and technology teachers at the university, and probably a workshop for future students.

 

October 6th and 7th: Approximately 160 to 170 student teachers will be participating in a one day ASSET workshop.

 

Inquiry Workshop: Over the summer a teacher developed an inquiry based lesson and is being test and the teachers will come back in November to see how it went.

 

Meetings: Every Wednesday from now on.

 

Websites: Student pages must be updated by September 18, 2003. Alyssa is updating the CalU CETP page.

 

Dr. Bonari: October 10, 2003 there will be around 125 5th graders from Marion Elementary School. From 9:15-1:45 they would be participating in activities all over campus. She wants our help if we have any ideas of activities. We are to email her our availability of time and activities.

 

Smart Classroom: In room 205 Dr. Cignetti is being shown the equipment and everyone is welcome to come.
